About the Job

Our company wants to strengthen its current position in the government funded GEO satellite development project with a pioneer Senior On-Board Software Developer who is willing to work in the forefront of satellite technology.
The Data Handling and OBSW group requires hardworking and enthusiastic Senior On-Board Software Developer who will be responsible for developing spacecraft on-board software across a number of GEO-communication satellite missions.

Tasks:

In this role as Senior On-Board Software Developer, you would be expected to:

· Develop on-board software and validation support, including analysis, design, test, validation and maintenance of satellite flight software embedded in spacecraft platform and payload systems.

· Develop software validation facilities to support test and validation of on-board software in flight representative simulated environment.

· Develop application software including battery management, thermal management, attitude and orbital control management, payload management.

· Develop platform related functional software including time management, platform services management.



Skills:


The person to fill the Senior On-Board Software Developer role will have knowledge of:


· Real-time embedded software concepts

· Real-time software development methods and tools

· Real time operating systems

· Model-Based software development methodologies and tools

· Software testing and integration

Programming languages C,C++,ADA and potentially Java
Object Oriented design methods
Model Based software development tools such as IBM Telelogic Rhapsody, Esterel SCADE, Matlab Simulink
Real time and embedded software development
Real-time operating systems such as Windriver VxWorks, Integrity RTOS or RTEMS


Qualifications:



As a Senior On-Board Software Developer, you should posses:

Required:



· A B.Sc in Electronics Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related degree.



Desired:

Knowledge of SPARC based microprocessors (ERC32, LEON2, LEON3)
Knowledge of spacecraft data buses and related communication system protocols (1553, CAN, OBDH)
Simulation of spacecraft systems
Knowledge of critical software development standards (ESA ECSS-E40, DO-178B)
